Welcome to the Airport City of tomorrow, welcome to the future district HORIZN BER CITY. A quarter and companies, connectivity and community, urbanity and nature, new work and networking, inspiration and relaxation, edutainment and prototyping, high-tech and zero emissions – HORIZN BER CITY at Berlin Brandenburg Airport is putting into effect the vision of a versatile, climate-friendly urban landscape that will evolve prominently in the coming years in direct connection to the international airport BER.

The district

Right next to BER, a new ecosystem is arising, combining work spaces, great experiences, the feelgood factor, and life! A quarter where an array of people and companies will locate to the new, sustainable buildings and uses. HORIZN BER CITY will form the heart of BER CITY and, at the same time, serve as the blueprint for further developments around the airport.

BER CITY

HORIZN BER CITY is emerging as an urban microcosm & space for dynamic growth in direct connection to BER, the region’s economic driver. With a mix of uses including conferences, parking, hotel, retail & food services, a wide range of mobility options as well as ideal connectivity & security infrastructure, the district is positioning itself nationally &internationally as an ambitious Airport City.

Directly at BER

HORIZN BER CITY is within walking distance of Terminals 1 and 2 at Germany’s third largest airport. Therefore, the future district not only has ideal connections to air traffic, but also to suburban trains, regional and long-distance transport as well as bus shuttles and the A113 motorway.

From here to the metropolises of Europe and beyond: over 140 destinations in 49 countries are served directly from Berlin Brandenburg Airport. BER is also a transport hub for rail and road. This makes HORIZN BER CITY a central location for global players and an international area of activity for a wide range of industries.

Concept tender process

Coworking, co-creation, co-development: with this in mind, the first part of the HORIZN BER CITY district is being developed with a collaborative approach of an open, two-stage concept tender. Property owner FBB invites real estate investment and project development companies across Europe to devise bold and sustainable solutions.
